Pun Fun Birthday

This card uses the bird from the Pun Fun stamp set. I made this for my son and his wife to give to my mother-in-law (Nana) for her birthday. Hope she likes it. To get the border (red and blue) for the sentiment I used the word window punch, cut in half and then positioned sentiment (hope that makes sense).

Soft and Sweet Cheep Talk

We will be visiting my in-laws this weekend in Massachusetts and my mother-in-laws birthday is on the 30th. We will celebrate on Sunday since both my husband and I have to be back in NY to go to work on Monday. My mother-in-law has Huntington's disease and is now in a nursing home as my father-in-law in unable to care for her. She also has diabetes and heart problems and according to my father-in-law her health has been deteriorating. We will be bringing our grandson with us and this will be the first time that the great grandparents will be seeing him. Hopefully we will have good weather and all will go well.

I've had this card made for about 3 weeks now but I'm finally able to post it since I've given it to the recipient today. When I first saw some of these cards on Splitcoast I knew I had to make one. Tangerine Tango Butterfly

I have used this stamp set several times and I haven't tired of it yet. The stamps in this set are very versitile and can be used for numerous occasions. I've made birthday cards, thank you cards, thinking of you, sympathy, etc and I'm so glad this stamp set made it into the new catalog. I think this will be a stamp set that I will own for years and use often. This card is for a friend of mine who works for the same company as me but works in NYC. She moved there several years ago to take a different position in the company and we still keep in touch. She is truly is a "great" friend and I wish we could see each other more often.

Cheep Talk CASE

I saw this card and absolutely loved the layout and knew that I had to try and make one similar. I changed some of the colors used and the ribbon choice and I used a different stamp for the birthday sentiment but almost everything else is the same. This will be going to another one of my co-workers. She is also a stamper and I enjoy making something that I know will be appreciated for all the extra efforts put into creating it.

Cupcake Birthday

This is another card for a co-worker's birthday. I liked the color combinations in the DSP very bright and cheery. I think this cupcake stamp would be an easy stamp to paper piece with and I think I'll have to try that next time I use it. This card came together very quickly and I like this layout when using a larger stamp. I've been trying to incorporate more background papers into my card making since I have so much of it. I seem to buy it and then when I'm making cards I just forget about using it. It now has a place on my workspace so that I will reach for it when I'm creating.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, KI Memories DSP; Ink: Palette Noir Black, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink; Stamps: Wagon Full of Fun; Other: Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Brads, Stickles, Dimensionals

Husband's Father's Day Card

This is the last Father's Day card I needed to make this year. I'll give this card to my husband. He likes to wear Hawaiian shirts in the summer when he is just hanging out on the deck. This is also an origami shirt but the DSP is cut at 4"x6" so that I could layer it on the other pieces of card stock and the brads look like buttons. I like the smaller size of this shirt since it gave me room to add the sentiment.
Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, KI Memories DSP; Ink: Bashful Blue; Stamps: All Year Cheer I (maybe II); Other: Ticket Corner Punch, Brads, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Floral Screen

Quick Father's Day Cards

Father's Day is coming soon and I needed to get a few cards ready. I made 3 cards very similar in nature to a previous card that was posted except I made these origami shirt cards to look like Hawaiian shirts. The recipients will be my father-in-law, my brother-in-law and my son. If you look closely at the pink printed shirt you will see that the brads look like buttons. I didn't have purple or blue brads that looked like buttons so I just used what was closest in color to the papers.

Supplies Used: Paper: Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Pale Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Naturals White, Riding Hood Red, KI Memories DSP; Ink: Palette Noir Black; Stamps: Goody-Goody Gumdrops; Other: Brads, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Floral Screen

Card for Husband's Co-worker

My husband asked me to make a card for a co-worker of his. He wanted something that was on the funny side. He says she seems to complain about everything and I suggested the "kwitcherbitchin" stamp and he thought it suited her. My husband is a network administrator and so the computer was the perfect stamp to use. I wanted the card to be fun and colorful since it was kind of a sassy card and I think its definitely colorful.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Orchid Opulence, KI Memories DSP; Ink: Palette Noir Black, Bordering Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Creamy Caramel, Real Red, Summer Sun; Stamps: Computer Quips, Kwitcherbitchin from River City Rubberworks; Other: Dimensionals, Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, Tempting Turquoise and Orchid Grosgrain Ribbon

Origami Shirt and Tie

I usually make all the birthday cards for everyone in my department and one of my co-workers will be celebrating his 25th birthday soon. This card is so appropriate for this young man he wears a tie almost everyday even though we have casual dress. You can find directions on the internet for creating an origami shirt and tie. This card came together quickly and I think he'll really like it. There are actually 4 of us that have birthdays in June and my department at work. My birthday was on the 1st and they had a nice birthday lunch for me and even got me a cannoli cake. It was so delicious but it is one of those cakes that you only have for special occasions since its so rich. It was definitely worth all the calories!

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Pool Party DSP; Other: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Argyle, Rhinestone Brad

Birthday Card from my sister

I had to post this card that I got from my oldest sister Joan. She loves to stamp and blames it all on me since I'm the one who actually introduced stamping to her. She signed up to be a demonsrator and is my only downline. We are both pretty much just hobby demonstrators and she only signed up to get the discount. I absolutely love this card and she incorporated a couple of different stamp sets in creating this card.
