Christmas Tree with Coordinated Tag

For my second card for the April 2013 Christmas card challenge, I used the same designer paper and real red card stock as in my previous post but I added the lucky limeade card stock to coordinate with the other color in the designer paper.  I used a red permanent marker to color the pearls so that everything would coordinate.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Christmas Punch
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Candlelight Christmas DSP
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Oval & Scallop Oval Nestabilities Dies, Snow Burst Embossing Folder, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Tag & Large Tag Punches, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Real Red Button, Gold Cord, Red Permanent Marker, Pearls, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Ornament Keepsakes with Tag

For the next few days I will be posting cards I made for the April 2013 Christmas card challenge.  The challenge was to create a tag using the leftover items after making the card.  Sounded easy enough but I don't usually have much leftover because I try and cut my card stock and designer paper using exact measurements.  So what I decided to do was to use the same colors for all of my cards and that way I didn't have to cut into extra card stock.  I chose to use red, green and brown as my color palette.  I'm really trying to keep up with these Christmas card challenges but it hasn't been easy.  Now that the weather is improving it becomes more difficult to think about winter.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Ornament Keepsakes, Holiday Collection
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Real Red, Early Espresso, Candlelight Christmas DSP
Ink:  Real Red Craft, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Holiday Ornament Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Dots Embossing Folder, Clear Embossing Powder, Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, 3/8" Circle Punch, Crop-a-Dile, Gold Cord, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Twisted Easel Butterflies

This is a birthday card that was given to a co-worker who loves anything with butterflies.  Since I didn't have to worry about having to pay for extra postage, because this was hand delivered, I could embellish as much as I wanted.  The twisted easel card is one I enjoy making because it is just so different from most cards people receive.  The best thing is that you don't have to worry about the card constantly falling down.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Bliss, Just Believe, Sincere Salutations
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink:  Summer Starfruit, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Scallop Eyelet Border Punch, Circle & Scallop Circle Nestabilities Dies, Large Oval Punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Chalkboard Birthday Banner

I'm trying to build a stash of birthday cards but also try different techniques.  The chalkboard technique has become very popular and I've made a couple of cards using this technique.  This card combines the popular chalkboard technique with banners which are also very popular right now.  I didn't like that the banners didn't reach the edge so I extended them using a white gel pen.  In hindsight I'm not sure I should have done that since the lines are thicker and not exact.  But what is done is done and it doesn't look terrible.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Patterned Party
Paper:  Whisper White, Black
Ink:  Versa Mark, Craft White
Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, White Gel Pen, White Pencil, Ruler

Silhouette Sympathy

This is the other sympathy card that I sent last week.  This was sent to my daughter's boyfriend so it had to be on the masculine side.  It is difficult enough to make a sympathy card and then to make it a masculine card was even harder so when I saw this card on Splitcoaststampers I just basically copied the card.  I did change a couple of things but it is basically the same card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Serene Silhouettes
Paper:  Whisper White, Black, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy
Ink:  Black, Baja Breeze, Pool Party, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Old Olive
Accessories:  Herringbone Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Blossoms Sympathy

We all know that inevitably we will need sympathy cards but most of us probably don't actually make them ahead of time.  I know that I make them as necessary and I had to send out a couple of cards last week and this was one of them.  I kept this card fairly simple with soft colors.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Easter Blossoms, Warmest Regards
Paper:  Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Mellow Moss, Le Jardin DSP
Ink:  Black, So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Accessories:  So Saffron Taffeta Ribbon

Snowman Fun

This is the last card I made for the March Christmas card challenge.  I had the DSP on my craft table that I used on the mitten card I posted a couple of days ago and that was my inspiration for the colors used on this card.  I also have lots of silver glimmer paper that I received free from SU and I wanted to incorporate that as well.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Snow Much Fun
Paper:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals, Silver Glimmer, Snow Festival DSP
Ink:  Black, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue
Accessories:  Circle & Scallop Circle Nestabilities Dies, Snowflake Punch, Crop-a-Dile, Snowburst Embossing Folder, Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots

Snow Much Fun

I hope you aren't getting tired of Christmas cards yet.  I have one more post after this one and then I'll get back to posting non-Christmas cards.  This card is also one I made for the March Christmas card challenge.  I purchased this set when Stampin' Up offered a discount on various stamp sets last fall and I never got around to using it until now.  My color inspiration came from the fact that Stampin' Up is retiring the color taken with teal and this DSP worked out perfectly with my choice of colors.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Snow Much Fun
Paper:  Whisper White, Taken with Teal, Sahara Sand, Holiday Lounge DSP
Ink:  Black, Ruby Red, Taken with Teal, Sahara Sand, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Snowflake Punch, Little Felt Flurries, Rhinestone Brad, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Nordic Mittens

Here is another card I made for the March Christmas card challenge using the stamp set called "Make a Mitten".  This card is a CASE from a card I saw on Splitcoaststampers here.  I changed the designer paper so that all of the elements I used were Stampin' Up but just about everything else is copied from that card.  It is hard to see but the mittens were actually stamped in versa mark ink on the designer paper, embossed with clear embossing powder and then punch out using the mitten builder punch.  I made this as a Christmas card but it would also be a great birthday card for someone with a winter birthday.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Make a Mitten
Paper:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Snow Festival DSP
Ink:  Versa Mark
Accessories:  Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities Dies, 3/4" Circle Punch, Snowflake Punch, Mitten Builder Punch, Modern Label Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, Paper Piercing Tool, Little Felt Flurries, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Rhinestone Brad, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I finally finished my cards for the March Christmas card challenge.  The challenge was to use things from your stash of Christmas supplies.  I opted to use stamps sets that had never been inked.  The first stamp set I used was Make a Mitten.  I purchased the set along with the mitten punch and this was the first card I made using both of those items.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Make a Mitten, Christmas Punch
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade
Accessories:  Wide Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Mitten Builder Punch, Paper Piercing Tool with Mat Pack, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Button, Dimensionals
